Record-breaking 3D printed buildings firm Apis Cor is set to reach even greater heights with a $35 million crowdfunding raise.

It will give private investors the opportunity to provide the building blocks for a company which aims to disrupt the $16 trillion global construction industry.

Apis Cor says using 3D printing and robotic machinery to produce buildings can make construction nine times faster than regular methods and slashes labor costs.

The Florida-based firm holds the Guinness World Record for the largest 3D printed building after teaming up with the Dubai Municipality; created the world’s first 3D printed home; and built the first permitted 3D printed commercial building in the US.

Along with SEARch+, Apis Cor was also a finalist in the 3D-Printed Habitat Challenge, organized by NASA to find technologies able to help create an inhabited environment on Mars.

Now it hopes to blast into a new growth period by teaming up with award-winning broker-dealer Rialto Markets’ crowdfunding platform and infrastructure for its Regulation A+ offering.

Anna Cheniuntai, CEO & Founder of Apis Cor said of the agreement: “Following our extensive R&D, market validation, and proven track record of landmark projects, we are now ready to go to the next stage; scaling and growth.

“Specifically, we intend to utilize the $35 million to expand our workforce, a fleet of printers and bulk trucks, establish multiple 3D printing material batching plants, as well as funding for ongoing product improvement and development.”

Apis Cor aims to reach revenue of at least $450 million by 2027 through deployment of 400 printers.

Rialto Markets CEO and Co-founder Shari Noonan said: “Apis Cor is developing pioneering and potentially disruptive technology, backed by ambitious growth plans. We’re delighted it has chosen to work with Rialto Markets to build on its success and give investors the chance to take equity in an exciting sector.”

A further benefit with Rialto Markets is its pioneering secondary market alternative trading system (ATS) which empowers the buying and selling of shares in private companies.

Operating in a similar way to the Nasdaq and NYSE for public company trading, the ATS allowing private companies to access vital funding and investors to have more flexible liquidity for their holdings

This includes equity crowdfunded companies in a much more regulated environment.
